National Academies advisory: Stem cell guidelines to be released at April 26 briefing

GUIDELINES FOR HUMAN EMBRYONIC STEM CELL RESEARCH, a new report from the National Academies, offers the U.S. scientific community a set of ethical principles to follow in deriving, storing, and working with human embryonic stem cell lines. The report also looks at research that introduces human stem cells into animals. Members of the committee that authored the guidelines will discuss them at a one-hour public briefing.
