National Academies advisory: 'Science and Art Conservation'
The National Academy of Sciences' Arthur M. Sackler Colloquium series sponsored "Scientific Examination of Art: Modern Techniques in Conservation and Analysis" in Washington, D.C., in March 2003.
As a follow-up to the colloquium, the Academies have published a book on this topic featuring papers written by expert panelists who participated in the meeting. "Scientific Examination of Art: Modern Techniques in Conservation and Analysis" examines the application of scientific methods to the study and conservation of art, sculpture, and architecture.
