National Academies advisory: May 17-18 meeting on RNA interference

A recently discovered phenomenon known as RNA interference has radically expanded scientists' understanding of the roles RNA plays in regulating the expression of genes. It may eventually be a basis for developing novel therapeutic agents to treat diseases. As part of its Arthur M. Sackler colloquium series, the National Academy of Sciences will hold a meeting at which biochemists, geneticists, and other medical researchers will discuss emerging developments in the field.

DETAILS:
8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on May 17, and 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on May 18, in the auditorium of the National Academies building, 2100 C St., N.W., Washington, D.C.

REPORTERS WHO WISH TO ATTEND SHOULD REGISTER IN ADVANCE by contacting Miriam Glaser Heston, Sackler Colloquium Series, at tel. 202-334-1229 or e-mail <[email protected]>.
