David Pieri, NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, Calif., presents research from the Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer (ASTER). It has collected a nearly ideal image data set for close analog comparisons with Martian landscapes, particularly those of volcanic and fluvial origin.
