Nerac to expand patent collection with 17 more resources

Comprehensive collection will include sought after patents from around the World

Nerac, a leading information resource for scientists, engineers and IP professionals, has recently signed an agreement with Univentio to add 17 additional patent databases from around the world. Beginning this month, Nerac plans to incorporate the patent files over the next year and a half. Clients will receive updates as each new database becomes available to Nerac, currently scheduled as one per month.

The databases cover the period 1980 to the present and include the full-text translated into English. Patent images will remain in original format and language. Following are the countries that will deliver the new full-text patent databases: Germany, France, Canada, Austria, Belgium, Switzerland, Denmark, Spain, Finland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal and Sweden.

"Nerac serves companies in 34 countries. As industry continues to expand globally, the need for intellectual property resources outside of the U.S. is essential. We will continue our mission to gather this data and make it accessible for clients as quickly as it becomes available to us," said Kevin Bouley, Nerac President.

The new 17 resources will be added to Nerac's current IP collection:

  • US Patent Gazette 1836-Present
  • US Patent Applications 2001-Present
  • European Granted Patents 1978-Present
  • European Patent Applications 1978-Present
  • World Patent Applications 1978-Present
  • Great Britain Applications 1918-Present
  • Patent Abstracts of Japan 1976-present (Unexamined Abstracts)
  • Patent Assignment File Current Coverage
  • INPADOC 1968-Present
  • IP.com Prior Art Database 2000-Present
  • US Trademark File

"Nerac's choice for Univentio patent databases is a great acknowledgment of the quality of our patent databases and of our skilled staff," Univentio CEO Willem Geert Lagemaat commented. "The demand from Nerac's clients for high quality patent information fit in seamlessly with Univentio's mission to be the world's leading patent information provider."

This expansion of Nerac's in-house collection, along with other new components such as the addition of Attorneys and registered Patent Agents as searchers, will provide a comprehensive package for patent users.
