Media invited to attend International Society For Heart & Lung Transplantation meeting April 21-24Clinical trail results to be releasedThe 24th Annual Meeting and Scientific Session of the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation (ISHLT) will feature presentations and debate on advances and emerging technologies in the fields of late stage heart and lung failure, thoracic transplantation, cell transplantation, and tissue engineering and related infectious disease. Held April 21-24 at the Hilton San Francisco, the meeting will feature original research, plenary sessions and lectures for more than 2,000 attendees from around the globe.
LATE-BREAKING RESULTS FROM CLINICAL TRIALS
Attending media will be the first to learn the results of high-impact transplantation clinical trials presented during special plenary sessions. These include: The use of genomic medicine to enhance outcomes in heart transplant recipients Definitive studies of newer distinctive strategies of immunosuppression to decrease rejection rates. Immunosuppression involves the medical suppression of the immune system to prevent organ transplant rejection. The latest information on the impact of novel immunosuppression in tackling coronary artery disease after transplantation using intravascular ultrasound Use of novel drug delivery systems such as inhaled cyclosporine after lung transplantation The final scientific program and hotel information are available at www.ishlt.org/meetings.
