Former US Secretary of the Interior Bruce Babbitt to speak at science symposiumEnvironmental and subsurface science the focus of Inland Northwest Research Alliance event(Spokane, WA) -- Bruce Babbitt, former U.S. Secretary of the Interior under President Clinton and former Governor of Arizona, will serve as the keynote speaker at the annual Environmental and Subsurface Science Symposium, hosted by the Inland Northwest Research Alliance (INRA). INRA is a coalition of eight northwestern research universities created to promote new opportunities for research and education that will benefit the region and the nation in a variety of technical disciplines. The Symposium will highlight national and international research conducted in the areas of environmental science and subsurface science as they relate to energy, nuclear, and national security technology.
Other speakers will include University of Idaho President Dr. Timothy White, Evan K. Nyer, Senior Vice President with ARCADIS G& M, Inc., and Dr. Jim Tate, current science advisor to Secretary of the Interior Gale Norton. At this year's event, 200 attendees are expected, and over 70 presentations and posters, arranged into topical sessions, will be given.
