2004 Pharmacology/Therapeutics/Toxicology Award to Haas Honolulu, Hawaii...Dr. Daniel Haas, Professor of Anesthesiology, Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto, has been named 2004 recipient of the Pharmacology, Therapeutics, & Toxicology Research Award, presented today during the Opening Ceremonies of the 82nd General Session of the International Association for Dental Research (IADR), convening at the Hawaii Convention Center. The award, supported by the Whitehall Robins Company, is one of 15 Distinguished Scientist Awards conferred annually by the IADR.
Dr. Haas has published extensively on a variety of pharmacological topics specifically related to dentistry. However, his main research interest resides with pain and anxiety control in dentistry. He has completed several studies on the efficacy of various anxiolytic agents in dentistry and also investigated efficacy and problems associated with different local anaesthetic agents. Dr. Haas is a regular attender and presenter at both IADR and AADR meetings and has previously served as President of the IADR's Pharmacology/Therapeutics/Toxicology Group (1995-96).
The IADR Pharmacology, Therapeutics, & Toxicology Research Award consists of a cash prize and a plaque.
