Industrial biotechnology and bioprocessing meeting set for April 21-23 The first world congress on biotechnology and bioprocessing will be held April 21-23 in Orlando, Fla. A key objective of the congress is to link biotechnology, chemistry and agriculture to create new scientific and economic models that will provide a transition from petrochemical to biological feedstocks.
Organized by the American Chemical Society, the world's largest scientific society, the Biotechnology Industry Organization and the National Agriculture Biotechnology Council, the meeting will examine the connection between biotechnology, chemistry and agriculture. It also will focus on novel applications of industrial biotechnology.
Among those attending will be chief technology officers, business development leaders, research managers, marketing directors, regulators, academicians, researchers and federal executives. Speakers include environmental specialists, technology forecasters and business strategists.
Topics to be addressed at the meeting, to be held at the Walt Disney Swan and Dolphin Hotel, are:
