Terrestrial Plant Invasions in the Temperate South

The problem, consequences, and taking control

The workshop's purpose is to provide information about the resource and social problems caused by the spread of nonnative invasive plants in the South.

In addition to teaching participants to identify 36 prevalent invaders, the workshop will provide details on national, agency, and state responsibilities in this area; detail current control strategies and methods; present basic monitoring and restoration approaches; identify currently-available information networks; and define future needs.

The workshop is designed for land managers and administrators for forestry, rights-of-way, natural areas, parks, and wildlife; landowners; horticulturists, aboriculturists, and landscape architects; and plant science educators and researchers.
