
June 2003 From Penn State Arrow Lionheart™ patient and medical team to reveal latest success in US human trials The Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center team studying the Arrow LionHeart™ will announce at noon, Tuesday, June 24, 2003, at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, a new development in the human trials of the totally-implantable heart-assist device, which was conceived of, developed and tested at Penn State College of Medicine in conjunction with Arrow International, Reading, Pa.The most recent recipient of an Arrow LionHeart™ as well as Walter E. Pae, Jr., M.D., professor of surgery, John P. Boehmer, M.D., associate professor of medicine, Division of Cardiology, Gerson Rosenberg, Ph.D., professor of surgery and bioengineering, and other members of the team will be present to discuss the new development as well as the history of the Arrow LionHeart™.
