UCSD Jacobs School offers inside look at Sensor Networks from homeland defense, environment and healthcare

San Diego, Feb. 8 -- The emerging field of sensor networks will revolutionize the wireless Internet, and help advance the nation's capability to analyze data and make informed decisions. National technology leaders and prominent University of California faculty will give an in-depth look at "Sensor Networks for Healthcare, the Environment, and Homeland Defense" at the UCSD Jacobs School of Engineering's Research Review, February 21 and 22. Reporters covering the event will get a broad overview of the field, challenges for the future, and possible applications. Speakers will be available for one-on-one interviews. (Note to TV editors: Video b-roll of select sensor-related projects will be available at the conference.)

More than 600 industry, government and university people are expected to attend. The event is sponsored by the Jacobs School's Corporate Affiliates Program, together with the California Institute for Telecommunications and Information Technology [Cal-(IT)2] and the San Diego Telecom Council.
