Invitation to cover: American Heart Association's Asia Pacific Scientific Forum 2002 You are invited to cover the American Heart Association's Asia Pacific Scientific Forum, "The Genomics Revolution: Bench to Bedside to Community" and the 42nd Annual Conference on Cardiovascular Disease and Epidemiology Prevention to be held April 23-26, 2002, at the Hawaii Convention Center, Honolulu, Hawaii.This new scientific forum is designed to enhance the interchange of emerging information in the causes, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of heart and vascular disease, including stroke, with a specific emphasis on new developments in the field of genomics. This year's inaugural meeting will also include the 42nd Annual Conference of the American Heart Association Council on Epidemiology and Prevention, with its traditionally high level of Population Science complimenting the Clinical and Basic Science segments of the forum. Highlights of some of the topics to be covered at this year's meetings include: o Genomics of vascular biology/angiogenesis o Genomics and clinical/population implications of life-threatening arrhythmias o Gene-environment interactions in prevention of heart disease o Population trends in cardiovascular risk factors o Results of cardiovascular disease treatment and prevention trials o Nutrition and cardiovascular disease Many of these topics will be featured in news conferences and news releases, and we will provide a fully equipped and staffed newsroom for working members of the news media.
