Undergraduate scholarship opportunity: Founder's scholar campaign

AGHE will again administer the AARP Andrus Foundation's Founder's Scholar campaign called the Founder's Society. One of the aims of the Founder's Society is to give donors the opportunity to sponsor a "Founder's Scholar," an undergraduate student who will receive a scholarship to study aging and develop a commitment to working with or on behalf of older adults. Funds will be raised by the Foundation in the name of the Founder's Scholar, and by giving to the Founder's Society, the donors will develop a personal interest in this student and his or her progress through college.

One $4,000 scholarship will be awarded to an undergraduate student for the 2002-2003 academic year along with up to $1,000 travel to The Gerontological Society of America's Annual Meeting, November 22-26, in Boston, Massachusetts. The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic excellence and must be nominated by faculty from the institution in which he/she is currently enrolled. APPLICATION DEADLINE IS JULY 5, 2002. For more information or to receive an application please contact the AGHE office (202) 289-9806 or [email protected].
