
October 2002 From Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research Evolution: Driving Change Whitehead Institute press seminar As the science of evolution moves beyond guesswork, scientists are unraveling the remarkable story of how life has evolved over the last 4 billion years. The seventh annual Whitehead Institute Press Seminar, "Evolution: Driving Change," will focus on the latest research in evolution at the cellular, species, and societal levels, spurred by the wealth of new genomic information.This year, press seminar participants also are invited to attend the Whitehead Symposium, "Biological Challenges to Humanity, Emerging and Re-emerging Pathogens," which will directly follow the press seminar on October 27-29. We expect an impressive audience of reporters and science writers from newspapers, magazines, and journals, including your colleagues from the New York Times, the Washington Post, Boston Globe, ABC, and National Public Radio. Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. Dress for all press seminar events is comfortable/casual.
