
August 2001 From University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill One of largest, most important national studies of breast cancer to be announced University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill clinical researchers will announce what they and federal officials say is one of the largest and most important breast cancer studies ever done in the United States at a news conference at the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center Tuesday (Sept. 4). The briefing will begin promptly at 2 p.m. in the center�s Plaza Level Conference Room.Dr. Etta Pisano, professor of radiology, and colleagues will describe the study, which she will lead and which will eventually involve almost 50,000 women and more than $26 million. Reporters can park in UNC Hospitals� public �Dogwood�parking deck, which is across Manning Drive from the hospitals. Ten spaces will be reserved for reporters near the entrance off Mason Farm Road, which runs parallel to and south of Manning. Videographers can drop equipment off on the sidewalk beside the Lineberger Building before parking their vehicles. Lineberger is next to the employee parking deck, which is gated and not open to the public.
