Researchers to announce remarkable fossil discovery bearing on ancient birds, dinosaursNot for publication University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill researchers will share findings from one of the most remarkable fossils ever unearthed at a 1:30 p.m. news briefing Thursday (June 22). The discovery, which will be described in the journal Science June 23, will be discussed in Room 304 Coker Hall. Reporters are invited to learn about the research, which involved an international team of U.S. and Russian scientists. It involves the earliest known feathers and relates to both birds and dinosaurs. Parking is available behind Coker Hall in the Bell Tower lot. Reporters should identify themselves to the person beside the parking lot gate so that he can let them in. Entrance to the lot is south off South Road opposite the chemistry department buildings (Kenan Labs).
