Society for the Study of Impotence 2000 Fall Research Meeting In Cleveland September 15-17Latest research findings on sexual medicine to be presented at 2000 Society for Study of Impotence Fall Research Meeting Approximately 200 leading experts in sexual medicine will be in Cleveland at the Downtown Marriott Hotel September 15-17 to present and discuss the latest research findings related to diagnosing and treating sexual disorders. The presentations and discussion will be part of the 2000 Fall Research Meeting of the Society for the Study of Impotence. During the meeting, about 60 researchers will present new peer-reviewed findings regarding sexual dysfunction, including new pharmaceutical treatments under development, diagnosing and treating female sexual dysfunction, and the relationship between prostate cancer treatments and developing erectile dysfunction. In addition to these new research findings, the meeting also features internationally renowned clinicians and researchers who have been invited to make special Grand Master Lecture presentations on several key topics in sexual medicine, including erectile dysfunction after treatment for prostate cancer, the psychogenic causes of sexual disorders, and oral therapy for female sexual dysfunction. "The information to be presented at this scientific forum represents the state-of-the-art in preventing, diagnosing, treating, and managing disorders impacting on sexual function," says Dr. Robert P. Nelson, a urologist at the Medical University of South Carolina and president of the Society for the Study of Impotence. "The knowledge in this medical discipline is increasing so rapidly that it is difficult for medical professionals and the general public to stay informed. It's meetings like this that help everyone stay up-to-date."
