Election 2000: implications for science and technologyWashington, DC - 9 November 2000 - Norm Ornstein and Skip Stiles will give their post-election outlook for science and technology at a forum to be held from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 15, 2000, at the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) auditorium, 1200 New York Ave., NW, Washington, DC. Ornstein is a resident scholar at the American Enterprise Institute, a well-known political analyst and contributor to Roll Call. Skip Stiles is former legislative director for the Democratic staff of the House Science Committee and currently serves as the executive director of the Genetic Resources Communications System. Following each speaker's comments, questions will be taken from reporters and the audience. This is the second seminar being sponsored by the Washington Science Policy Alliance, a loosely knit coalition of institutions that includes AAAS; Center for International Science and Technology Policy, George Washington University; Center for Science, Policy & Outcomes, Columbia University and Georgia Tech; Science & Technology Policy Program, George Mason University; Program in Science, Technology & International Affairs, Georgetown University; RAND Science & Technology Policy Institute; Science & Technology Policy Program, SRI International; and the Science & Technology Studies Program, Virginia Tech, Northern Virginia Center.
