Future Directions In Global Change ResearchA Workshop For Journalists On NASA's Earth Observing System, June 24-25, 1999 This summer NASA begins a new 15-year investigation of the Earth and global change with the launch of the Terra mission on July 28. The Earth Observing System (EOS) suite of satellites will supply researchers around the world with an unprecedented array of data to study all aspects of climate change. NASA's Earth Observing System Project Science Office is sponsoring a workshop for journalists on new findings and continuing challenges in global change research and how the "EOS era" will advance our understanding of this important topic. The workshop includes a day-long seminar with several of the country's leading global change scientists and a tour of spacecraft facilities and mission operations at Goddard Space Flight Center. Thursday, June 24 SEMINAR: "FUTURE DIRECTIONS IN GLOBAL CHANGE RESEARCH" American Geophysical Union 2000 Florida Ave., NW, Washington, D.C. 9:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (See below for complete list of speakers.
